Son Allegedly Shot Dead By Father After Stabbing Parents, Cops Say

A Connecticut man allegedly shot and killed his son over the weekend after the 24-year-old repeatedly stabbed his parents while they were in their bed, ctnow.com reports.
Police said David Gemeasky Jr., of Griswold, Conn., entered his parents' bedroom at around 7:40 p.m. Saturday and began stabbing his father, David Gemeasky Sr. He then attacked his mother, Tamara Brennan, as she tried to run away.
David Gemeasky Sr. was able to get his shotgun and fatally shoot his son despite suffering from serious stab wounds. David Gemeasky Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gemeasky Sr. and Brennan were taken to a local hospital. Brennan was treated and released, and Gemeasky Sr. was in stable condition Sunday, a hospital spokesperson said.
The body of David Gemeasky Jr. was taken to the Office of the Chief State's medical examiner for an autopsy, and police continue to investigate the incident.
David Gemeasky Jr. was arrested in August and charged with unlawful discharge of a firearm, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct after he locked himself inside his parents’ home with powerful rifles and armor-piercing ammunition. He surrendered to police after a lengthy standoff with a SWAT team.
